You Can Now PTA Register Mobile Phones Without Taxes for 120 Days

A landmark event was held today when Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s Temporary Mobile Registration System was inaugurated by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

As part of this initiative, overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals visiting Pakistan can register and use their personal mobile phones without paying duties and taxes for up to 120 days after arrival.

The Temporary Mobile Registration System was developed in consultation with MoITT, FBR, and FIA. During each visit to Pakistan, visitors can use this facility.

Users can apply online by visiting PTA’s official website.

During his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to providing top-notch connectivity facilities to all visitors, ensuring they can stay connected while in Pakistan.

At the launch ceremony, Syed Amin Ul Haq, the Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, said:

Dedicated to providing smooth ICT services across Pakistan, we pledge to provide connectivity with ease and comfort to all overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals visiting Pakistan.

PTA Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders, including the Ministry of IT & Telecom (MoIT), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

A number of consumer-centric initiatives have also been implemented by PTA to ensure the provision of high-quality ICT services across the country.
